The Chancellor of the Diocese of Cochin Very Rev. Fr. Regin Joseph Thomas Alungal (41) passed away. He has been serving as the Diocesan Chancellor since April 2021.
He was born on August 29, 1981 to Alunkal Joseph and Thresyamma, in Chandiroor. He completed his primary education at Pattanakkad Public School. He took his degree from Chenganoor Engineering College and Masters Decree from CUSAT. He worked as Assistant Professor at Government Engineering College, Cherthala.
Thereafter he entered in the minor seminary at Fortcochin and completed his priestly formation at Papal Seminary, Pune. He was ordained priest in 2020 and was appointed as the assistant parish priest at Our Lady of Hope Church, Vypeen. After one year the Bishop of Cochin appointed him as the Chancellor of the Diocese.
The Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm at St. Mary's Church, Chandiroor.
